Welcome to the Computer-Supported Learning Research Group

The Computer-supported Learning Research Group (LuFG Informatik 9), headed by Prof. Dr. Ulrik Schroeder, is part of the Computer Science Department(external link) at RWTH Aachen University(external link).

Our goal is to promote and conduct innovative research, teaching, and collaboration in the areas of technology enhanced learning, intelligent Web and mobile systems, and didactics of computer science.

Our research revolves around five themes:

  • Engineering innovative learning systems.
  • Learning theories and technologies.
  • Open assessment and intelligent feedback.
  • Gender and diversity studies.
  • Didactics of computer science.

In this context, we work on methods, infrastuctures, and techniques for next generation technology enhanced learning environments. Currently, an active research area is the development of the Lifelong Learning Platform as a smart open learning environment, where formal, informal, and lifelong learning converge around a learner-controlled and networked space.

Prof. Dr. Ulrik Schroeder is also head of the Center for innovative Learning Technology (CiL)(external link) and director of the school laboratory for computer science (InfoSphere)(external link) at RWTH Aachen University.
